They arrived before the scheduled work time and promptly began when I was told they would. They all smiled and waved and seemed genuinely happy and eager to start the job. I watched them throughout the day and couldn't believe how they did it all. We had approximately 540 sqft of concrete that needed to be torn out and replaced. These men are so strong and such hard workers! They made it look effortless. They started at 8am and finished around 6pm, leaving the yard and sidewalk/ street very clean. They ensured our sprinkler system worked properly and even fixed things that had nothing to do with the driveway! They were so cheerful and wonderful. I have been marveling at our new driveway all evening. It is buttery smooth and perfect. I love that we were able to put our children's handprints in the sidewalk area as well. We are already planning our next concrete project with them and have referred family to them as well. We had been planning on redoing our driveway for over 5 years, and I wish we would have done it sooner because we have absolutely no regrets. I never knew I could be so excited about concrete! I am seriously blown away by the quality and professionalism we experienced from start to finish with Mt. Olive Concrete. Rodney, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. He is kind, prompt in his responses, knowledgeable, patient, fair, and just a great person. The crew that completed the job was amazing. They arrived before the scheduled work time and promptly began when I was told they would. They all smiled and waved and seemed genuinely happy and eager to start the job. I watched them throughout the day and couldn't believe how they did it all. We had approximately 540 sqft of concrete that needed to be torn out and replaced. These men are so strong and such hard workers! They made it look effortless. They started at 8am and finished around 6pm, leaving the yard and sidewalk/ street very clean. They ensured our sprinkler system worked properly and even fixed things that had nothing to do with the driveway! They were so cheerful and wonderful. I have been marveling at our new driveway all evening. It is buttery smooth and perfect. I love that we were able to put our children's handprints in the sidewalk area as well. We are already planning our next concrete project with them and have referred family to them as well. We had been planning on redoing our driveway for over 5 years, and I wish we would have done it sooner because we have absolutely no regrets. I never knew I could be so excited about concrete! I called Rodney and he came out that day to look at the job and quote a price. I agreed and he scheduled the job. Bad Weather caused a slight delay but no problem. The work was done on the first good weather day and all I can say is... WOW did those men do a fantastic and beautiful job!! The men tore out the old concrete, reformed new, added steel, poured concrete and finished with a brush finish to match other concrete. I highly recommend this company. Very fair price and excellent work. They get 5 stars from this customer with my thanks! read less

Overall this company did a fantastic job but there are a few things that I think others should be aware of. The good: From the time I first contacted the company they were fast to respond, they provided an extremely thorough project estimate and their pricing, while not the lowest bid I received, was extremely competitive. Based on the reviews I read on the web, I decided to "pay a little extra" to get a company that was so highly rated. This was a great decision.
The bad: Once I had provided a down payment, communication ceased. I could never reach anyone in their office. Noone would answer the phone and the voicemail was full, not accepting new messages. I tried texting as well, still nothing. I was on the verge of trying to cancel the contract because I thought I had been scammed when a friend of mine said there were a lot of people at my house tearing up the driveway.
The overall experience was great. This company if a fire and forget company. They do what they say and they deliver quality product. You just don't need to follow up on them as you do most contractors. They get the job done. I would not expect communication from the office personnel but you will get a great job done from them. read less

I had Mt Olive Concrete Works to pour a concrete overlay with a decorative custom stamping on existing concrete area that was 15 years ago that would not blend in with the existing concrete area. The workmanship of the crew and caring management to walk me through the entire process was well done. My overall 4.0 rating comes from a seemingly lacking capability to effectively communicate and follow-up.

Upon completion of this pour, i was informed by Ethan Kovatch they would be back to remove remainder of form and that it would be 2 - 3 weeks when a third party would return to apply staining/highlighting and sealing...we've surpassed three weeks, working on fourth since patio was poured and 2/3 of form remains intact, several area's (large globs) of concrete remain from seapage under form (i was told these would be removed); form materials that were removed remain in my back yard...killing my grass, and there has been ZERO contact from anyone (Mt. Olive or third party) regarding when staining/highlights and sealing will be completed...i understand it is imperative to ensure concrete is fully cured and dry prior to sealing, but no one has contacted me or been back to verify present condition of slab. Failure to contact or follow-up can greatly reduce Mt. Olives credibility with this and future projects...i hope this isn't the case.

I have paid this project in-full and it has yet to be completed (initial payment was made 15 May 2017...pour took place and remaining balance paid 31 May 2017.

I am SO LOOKING FORWARD to seeing this completed and enjoying it, but i am beginning to wonder when (if) this will ever happen... read less

We hired Mt. Olive to remove a current walkway in... read moreWe hired Mt. Olive to remove a current walkway in the front of our house, and reinstall with a colored-stamped concrete walkway. We also asked them to add a colored-stamped slab to back of our house that needed to match an existing slab. Chris and his team were fantastic. He came out on time for the quote--which was low compared to the others listed on this site (although all of them were very nice too). His team showed up on time to do the work. They were all very polite and respectful. They did a great job of pouring the cement and stamping it. They are scheduled to come back and seal it in a couple of weeks. I would re-hire them tomorrow if we had a reason to need more work like this. Absolutely recommend them!

As for looking for a company to do work like this--beware that many do not specialize in smaller jobs like these. If they don't--you will pay for the extra concrete even if you don't use it. Chris's quote was more than reasonable and much less than the the other companies who gave us quotes. All that to say, if you think the amount seems high--KEEP LOOKING (or call Mt. Olive). You need to find a company that specializes in smaller cement orders. We found that isn't always easy to find. We were very thankful to have Home Advisors. read less

Project was a 40 x 60 Concrete Slab intended as... read moreProject was a 40 x 60 Concrete Slab intended as a foundation for a metal building. Mr. Dole suggested a better design than the city required and provided drawings for the permit application. The crew came in and created the forms to provide the guide for trenching then finished the forms, called for inspection, and arranged for the concrete. They made adjustments for the level with sand back fill. Installed the rebar, poured the concrete without a pump, and completed the job within a week. Excellent workmanship and the best quote. Definitely would recommend Mt. Olive Concrete Works to anyone. read less
